AT HOME ON THE 100 YEAR STREET

SATURDAY 21ST NOVEMBER 11AM – 2PM

Dear neighbours, this November we invite you into our cosy ‘Front Room’ at Squash for a gentle arts project to help us all imagine how we could we feel more at home in the future. Over a cuppa & cake, let’s get to know each other better. Come and have a go at collage, drawing and map-making with artists Tabitha Moses, Clare Owens, Jon Barraclough & Jordan Hau.

How we build a more just world with each other and how we create the relationships we can rely on, no matter the storms that come, requires tender collaboration and care. Let’s consider what home means to us all. How might tending to our streets, greens spaces and to each other help grow a thriving future for our shared neighbourhood home?

At Squash we have a 100-year vision, manifesting through folk, arts, food and culture, and rooted in nature. We’re interested in ways that our neighbourhood can become more of a people-powered place; a playful, & loving community where everybody thrives.

This project is open to L8 residents living in Princes Park, Toxteth, Arundel or Dingle wards. It’s part of the *‘Home through Time’ neighbourhood arts project.

On Saturday 21st November you’re welcome to come for an hour or so from 11am, or to stay for the whole session until 2pm. Get in touch with clare@squashliverpool.co.uk to book your free place.

There’s another opportunity to get involved on Wednesday 18th November from 6-7pm during our Annual General Meeting. For more information and to book on please see here.

*Home Through Time is a bold, neighbourhood-wide cultural programme transforming Windsor Street and the surrounding Liverpool 8 communities into a living work of art. Rooted in the area’s rich history of migration, creativity and cultural diversity, the project brings local people and artists together to explore what home means through Past, Present and Future. Through stories, memories, music, food, photography, performance, workshops and creative commissions, residents become co-creators, celebrating the people and cultures that have shaped the neighbourhood while imagining its future.

Home Through Time is a joyful celebration of identity, belonging and place—created by local people, for the neighbourhood and shared with the wider city. Home Through Time is part of a Culture Liverpool’s Home: A Celebration of Place collaboration of L8 cultural organisations lead by LUMA Creations. Save the date – Saturday 5th December – for the Windsor Street celebration! More info to follow…
